Along the banks of the Yadkin River
Forest Lake is nestled on 300 acres of prime recreational land along the banks of the Yadkin River. At one time the property was part of the Coolemee Tobacco Plantation. The tobacco has been replaced with corn, which pleases our ample deer population. Other wildlife you’ll see includes turkey, squirrel, many species of hawk, and of course lots of gamefish including bass, catfish, crappie and bluegill. All of our 268 RV sites have full hook-ups. Two air conditioned lodges are available, one for adults only and the other has a game room for the kids. Also at the family lodge you will get to purchase hand-dipped ice cream and pick up any items you may have forgotten at home. Feel like a swim? We have a family pool, adult pool, kiddie pool and a jacuzzi.
Also available for rent
you will find 18 cozy cabins with heat and AC, a full bath and television. Many miles of trails are available for hiking, biking, horseback riding and golf carting.
Twenty miles to the north lies the city of Winston/ Salem with great shopping and restaurants. “Old Salem”, a Moravian settlement, features bakeries where world famous Moravian cookies are still baked in open hearth ovens. The town tavern serves up great food nightly in a unique “Inn” atmosphere.
Ten minutes down the road you will find the Childress Vineyards with great food, wine tasting in the gift shop, and live music in the summer time. The nearby town of Lexington is the home to one of the south’s largest food festivals. In late October over 100,000 folks come to celebrate at the Lexington Barbeque Festival. Other attractions you will want to explore include NASCAR motor shops and museums; also, “Mayberry” (Andy Griffith’s hometown, real name Mt. Airy), The North Carolina Zoo, The North Carolina Transportation Museum, and Lowe’s Motor Speedway where you can purchase tickets to ride around the track in a van (unless a race is on, of course!).
Whether you want a quiet weekend by the campfire or a vacation jam-packed with local attractions, Forest Lake is ready and waiting.
