Lake Whitney RV
Thousand Trails Lake Whitney, located in Western Hill County, has over 450 acres with 250 campsites. A majority of them located in natural shaded areas. There are 3 distinct camping areas on the property, one that includes pull-thru spots located close to the Adult Lodge and pool area.
Our adult lodge area has a small laundry facility, exercise room, and a well-stocked book exchange. The adult pool and hot tub are also located in that area. You can access the lake frontage from the improved foot trails on the Army Corp of Engineers Property directly below the Adult Lodge. Play a game of shuffleboard before you leave the area.
There is a second camping area located close to the family center complex. It’s a short walking and easy biking distance from your campsite to the organized
activities, food events, and social gatherings which are all planned at the Family Center area. You will also find a tennis/pickle ball court and basketball court directly next to this camping area.
The third and final camping area is located between the Adult Lodge and Family Center camping areas. It’s one of the most popular camping areas because of the beautiful live oak trees and easy access. Foot trails are available from any of the campsite areas and there is natural environment to hike in.
For our horse owner/lovers, you’re welcome to bring your horses with you. We have a small round pen and well marked horse trails. Although we have only a few miles of marked trails on the property, we are located 5 miles away from the McCown Valley Equestrian Trail which has over 150 miles of horse trails.
With a variety of campsite choices and a great location, you’re sure to enjoy the Whitney property. Boat launches are located within 5 miles of the entrance and Lake Whitney is a wonderful sporting lake. Clear water flows into the lake from the Brazos River before continuing downstream at the dam. Come visit, relax, and get back to nature.
