Blue Mesa Recreational Ranch is surrounded by some the most spectacular Rocky Mountain beauty to be found anywhere. While we tend to be dominated by the lake there is so much more to see and do! No matter what direction you go in from Blue Mesa Recreational Ranch you will find plenty of incredible mountain country to explore. Whether you are hiking, on horseback, 4-wheeling and ATV you will not be disappointed!
Black Canyon National Park is to the west, the West Elk Mountains to the north, the San Juan's to the south, and so much more everywhere in between! Blue Mesa Recreational Ranch makes the perfect base camp to go out and and fall in love with our mountains and valleys.
Please be aware that the bridge that crosses the Blue Mesa Reservoir at Dillon Pinnacles between
Montrose and Gunnison is closed for structural repairs.
Due to this closure, guests coming to the property East Bound from Montrose via East US 50 will need to
find an alternative route to get to the campground. We recommend consulting your GPS or COtrip.org
for accurate estimates of travel times and best available routes.
CDOT has also put a barricade blocking US 50 at Lake City Bridge that will affect guests coming to the
property West Bound from Gunnison via West US 50. Rest assured that guests will be able to pass
through the barricade by informing the CDOT workers that they are headed to Blue Mesa Recreational
Ranch.
